The St. Joseph School District Foundation was established in 1984 to provide support for the St. Joseph School District, its faculty and students, and to promote, sponsor, and carry-out educational, scientific, technological and related activities and objectives. The Foundation offers:

• Apple Seed Gift Certificates to new teachers
• Apple Seed mini-grants to classroom teachers
• Robaska Scholarships for teachers pursuing graduate degrees
• Lori Schmitter Scholarship for Early Childhood Educators
• Sarilee Optican Memorial Scholarships for Math and Science Teachers
• Bender's Home Care Teacher of the Year Award
• Hy-Vee Support Person of the Year Award
• Meierhoffer Innovator of the Year Award
• Teacher and Support Person of the Year Awards/ All Finalists
• Academic Competition Funding
• Ruby Wells Memorial Field Trip Grants (Title I)
• Five Endowed Student Scholarships
• Halverson Memorial JROTC Award

 

The Lori Holley Memorial Scholarship Fund was started in 2010 by Ron Holley to remember a wonderful, giving teacher who had a genuine affection for her students. Nothing gave Lori Holley more joy than seeing her students succeed. She had a wonderful caring way of motivating students and bringing out the best in them. Lori received her Masters in Education from the The Citadel and taught in South Carolina, Arizona, and Missouri. She was a beloved teacher at St. Francis Xavier School in St. Joseph, Missouri from 1998 until her death in 2007. This scholarship is available to students at St. Francis Xavier who will be attending Bishop LeBlond High School in St. Joseph Missouri.

 

 

The purpose of the Founders Circle Fund is to assist in the operational and developmental costs of the Community Foundation of Northwest Missouri, Inc. Members of this group have the satisfaction of supporting an organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people in Northwest Missouri through philanthropy. The mission of the Community Foundation is to benefit charitable organizations in Northwest Missouri, help donors create a legacy; ensure money earned in NW MO can remain here; maintain donor intent; and provide efficient & effective financial management. The Founders Circle members are named in the Foundation’s annual report and other publications. Their support is an important part of the Foundations’ continued growth and ability to serve our community.

 

Wyatt Park Baptist Ruth Huston Scholarship Fund

 

This fund was established in memory of Ruth Huston a long time educator and member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church by members of Wyatt Park Baptist Church and friends of Ms. Huston. The Fund is to provide scholarships to members of Wyatt Park Baptist Church that are active in the ministries of the Church.

 

Wyatt Park Baptist Alyce Lawrence Scholarship Fund

This fund was established in memory of Alyce Lawrence a leader in music ministry and long time member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church by members of the Church and the family of Mrs. Lawrence. The Fund is to provide scholarships to qualifying students attending William Jewell College or other qualified institutions in the event there are not qualifying applications to William Jewell College.
